Are you a Social Media Guru who knows how to engage online communities and spot the latest trends? We are seeking a part-time dynamo to join our lively team. Your energy and expertise across various social platforms will be key in curating content that truly resonates with our diverse client base spanning retail, consumer, and B2B.

But you’re not just a guru behind a screen, you’re also a field operative. You’ll be attending buzz-worthy events and locations in the Denver metro area to craft live social media content, ensuring our brands maintain a consistent presence across all channels.

As our Social Media Guru, your tasks will include:

  • Orchestrating captivating social media strategies across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Threads, tracking each campaign’s success.
  • Sharing and optimizing content across networks in line with strategic goals.
  • Creating and curating engaging social media content.
  • Directing the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content to align with our brand voice.
  • Collaborating with marketing teams to devise and maintain a social media calendar.
  • Monitoring social media channels for industry trends.
  • Interacting with users and responding to social media messages, inquiries, and comments.
  • Reviewing analytics and creating reports on key metrics.
  • Assisting in the development and management of influencer marketing strategies.
  • Repurposing client media assets into timely, tasteful, and on-brand content.
  • Engaging with customers and influencers in real time, and moderating discussions on social media posts.
  • Working directly with creatives, brand ambassadors, and users to procure social media content.
  • Staying tuned to social media trends and best practices to develop optimal strategies.
  • Confirming and developing hashtags for posts.
  • Supporting the Digital Marketing Manager and Creative Director as needed.

Working Hours & Location:

The Social Media Guru role is part-time, around 20 hours per week. Candidates should be based in Northern Colorado or Denver. This position offers a blend of remote and on-site working, with occasional visits to our agency office in Longmont and client locations in Denver for coordination and content creation.


Hourly Rate:

Part-time, hourly rate will be between $23.65 – $31.46/hour, depending on skill level and experience.


Additional Responsibilities for Digital-based & Remote Work:

  • Maintaining project timelines.
  • Gathering all social media requirements for client projects and initiatives.
  • Managing and maintaining client expectations specific to social media projects and campaigns.
  • Independently initiating and completing projects.

Social Media Guru Qualifications / Skills:

  • Deep passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and management tools.
  • Proficiency with video and photo editing tools, digital media formats, and HTML.
  • Strong social listening skills.
  • Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space.
  • Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills.
  • Top-notch oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
  • Detail-oriented approach with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Experience using social media management tools (Socialoomph, Critical Mention, Ocoya, Canva).
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premier Pro) or equivalent digital media editing tools a plus.
  • Ability to compose social media-style videos.
  • Creative, self-motivated, proactive mindset.
  • Retail, fashion and/or thrift experience or passion a plus.
     

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field.
  • 1-3 years’ experience with B2C & B2B social media marketing and content development.

  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Have excellent people skills and the ability to work efficiently remotely or in person.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and persona, whether virtually or in person.
  • Perform under tight deadlines.
  • Handle pressure effectively.
  • Fit into the Avocet agency culture seamlessly.
