June 20th marked Lisa Metzger’s fifth anniversary as Avocet Communications’ PR director.
Metzger is a veteran PR and media relations specialist with over 30 years in the industry. She joined Avocet in 2015 and has, since that time, managed strategic PR and media relations campaigns for the agency’s entire client roster, including, among many others, Arc Thrift Stores, Roccor, Solid Power, Mulay’s Sausage, Aircraft Performance Group, the Big Idea Project, and the Generous Leadership® Challenge. She has managed PR events with the Governor and state representatives, coordinated media relations at trade shows from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, and secured coverage in some of the nation’s top media outlets, including Forbes, Bloomberg, Aviation Week, and SpaceNews. She has also enhanced the agency’s outreach to include both local and national influencers in the areas of fashion, sustainability, recipe development, and parenting.
“PR and media relations have changed greatly over the course of my career,” Metzger said. “But what hasn’t changed, and what I love most about what I do, is storytelling. Whether pitching to an editor at a traditional magazine or to an influencer who is a big deal on Instagram, it’s still all about telling a story.
“Avocet’s clients are key players in their industries and so have some of the best, most intriguing stories to tell,” she added.
